About the OpenCommit Foundation

The OpenCommit Foundation is a European non-profit keeping open source free.

OpenCommit is an EU non-profit foundation that provides a free, reliable forge for open source projects at opencommit.eu. We believe open source should have a home that is transparent, independent of profit motives, and working towards a being one cornerstone in a federated system of forges.

What we do

  • We operate the OpenCommit platform free of charge for open source developers.
  • We fund our work through donations, sponsorships and the sale of private repository access for businesses, never through vendor lock-in or surprise billing.
  • We publish our policy plans and annual reports openly, in the spirit of the open source community we serve.

Stichting OpenGit (trade name: OpenCommit Foundation) is a Dutch non-profit foundation (ANBI) based in Leiden, the Netherlands.

Board

The foundation is governed by a board of three directors: a chair, a secretary, and a treasurer. Board members volunteer their time.
